Are courses accredited or certified?

No,  our courses are not accredited.  We do provide a student record and a certificate for each completed course if requested.

Where are the courses delivered?

Our courses are a mixture of in person and virtual courses. We have classrooms in Portsmouth University and space in Winchester. We also deliver from churches, community centres and other public spaces.

Question 3

What happens if I miss a session?

Nothing. We get it - things happen. We just ask that you let us know and we will try and get you a place on another session.

If you miss multiple sessions, our student support team can get in touch to explore if there is anything that we can do to help.

Question 4

Can I leave a course partway through?

Ideally, we would like students to attend the whole course, but we understand that sometimes things happen outside of your control - if you need to leave a course, let our facilitators know. One of our student support team will then follow up with you.

For multi-day courses, students generally need to attend all days of the course, so it’s important to consider if this commitment is right for you at the time when committing to a longer course.

What can I expect to gain from attending?

Courses are designed to help with many areas - for example, a greater understanding of your chosen area and more confidence in your  ability to take the driving seat in your recovery. They also offer new connections, a sense of achievement,  support from those who have had similar experience and even renewed hope. The courses also offer practical tools and strategies to help with your recovery and wellbeing.

Do you track outcomes or provide feedback?

We have a dedicated student support team that work with you to plan your goals whilst your with the college, but don’t worry, we understand that recovery is different for everyone so we measure progress individually in a person-centered manner.

Question 7

What happens if a course is cancelled?

Accepted Answer

On the rare occasion we must cancel a course, you will be contacted by one of our facilitators through your preferred method of communication. We will then look to hold the cancelled course at another time and date and will invite you to attend the course when you can.

Do I need to attend every course?

No, you can choose which courses you want to attend. The only required course is the Welcome Session which helps new students to understand how the college works.

What do I need to bring to each course?

A notebook, pen and a water bottle are super helpful, as well as any tools that you find helpful, such as fidget toys, and as per your individual learning plan.

Some people also like to bring lunch to full-day courses.

What is the group size for courses?

Our courses can be a small as 2 or 3, or our capacity for online courses is 15.

Are there exams as part of the college?
